The Third Qingdao Salon for Management Representatives of Medical Device Manufacturers Was Successfully Held
On 28 July, the third Qingdao Medical Device Manufacturers’ Management Representatives’ Salon was successfully held in the West Coast New Area. Organised by the West Coast New Area Market Regulation Bureau under the guidance of the Qingdao Municipal Market Regulation Bureau and the Second Branch of the Shandong Provincial Drug Administration, the event aimed to comprehensively advance the implementation of the revised ‘Good Manufacturing Practice for Medical Devices’ and effectively enhance the quality management standards of medical device manufacturers.
The event adopted a three-tiered coordination mechanism involving provincial, municipal and district levels, and innovatively utilised a format combining an ‘in-person main venue with remote live streaming’, thereby breaking down geographical barriers, expanding coverage and attracting the participation of management representatives from over 200 enterprises in Qingdao and other cities and districts across the province, as well as representatives from the Qingdao Medical Device Industry Association.
Closely aligned with the implementation requirements of the revised ‘Quality Management Standards for the Production of Medical Devices’, the event brought together management representatives from leading enterprises to exchange experiences and share case studies centred on key areas such as design and development, procurement and raw materials management, tailored to the specific circumstances of their organisations. Through an in-depth analysis of typical practices and common issues in the operation of quality management systems, the event provided participating enterprises with practical pathways that can be emulated and replicated.
An interactive Q&A session was also held during the event, where regulatory officials engaged in face-to-face discussions with enterprise representatives. They systematically addressed the difficulties and bottlenecks encountered in implementing the provisions of the new regulations, and responded individually to specific queries raised by enterprises regarding practical implementation. This ‘face-to-face’ interaction between government and industry not only helped enterprises deepen their understanding of the new regulations but also clarified the direction for subsequent rectification and improvement.
This seminar broke down the territorial barriers to mutual learning among peers across different cities, streamlined the three-tier regulatory chain at provincial, municipal and district levels, established a broader direct communication platform between government and enterprises, and achieved more efficient alignment of regulatory policies, thereby enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the implementation of the ‘Regulations’.
